ISSA BOYS’ FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT LONDON
ISSA BOYS’ FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT LONDON – NOVEMBER 2013
The “ISSA Boys’ Soccer Tournament” took place from October 30th to November 2nd 2013, coinciding with the 30th Anniversary of the creation of the ISSA (International Schools Sports Association).
Accompanied by Mr. Ben Millard (assistant) and Sergi Arana (coach), 13 ESO and Baccalaureate students fought to achieve the best result possible. However, and not to serve as an excuse, the bad weather conditions, the state of the pitch and the fact that it was not made of Astroturf but real grass caused our players, not used to these circumstances, to lose some of the games they played.
The trip was a huge success! Our students, despite finishing in 8th place, behind the International School London; enjoyed their time in the UK and shared great moments with the rest of the international schools. They made new friends, lived a lot of great experiences and felt at home with the host families from Southbank.
Finally, the winner was the American School Madrid after beating Southbank International School and the third place was for ACS Egham.
Congratulations to our boys! We are sure that next year, more experienced and wiser, we will be able to set even higher goals.
