Clàudia Pellicer, winner of the 14th German Translation Contest at the UPF

In the event presided over by the Doyenne of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, Mercè Cañadas, in the Auditorium, Clàudia Pellicer was awarded with the prize for the best ESO translation from German into Catalan. The contest counted on the participation of ESO 3 and 4 and Baccalaureate 1 and 2 students coming from a total of 64 different schools all over Catalonia and the Balearic Islands.

The Doyenne gave a speech and said that what the jury had liked the most was Clàudia’s ability to translate typical German idioms into Catalan in a very natural way, keeping at all times the coherence and cohesion of the text and showing great vocabulary skills.

We would also like to congratulate Diana Ianole, Stephanie de Salvador and Hugo Igartua for having qualified for the Final of the 14th edition of the UPF Translation Contest.
