Catalonia Bible Contest
Carla Morgado Rodríguez, Primary 5, won 2nd place in the Catalonia Bible contest.
The Awards Ceremony took place on Saturday 24th May at the Centre Cultural in Terrassa. The Bishop of Terrassa, Monsignor Saiz Meneses, presided the ceremony which celebrated its 29th edition this year.
He was accompanied by Mr. Jordi Ballart, Mayor of Terrassa, Mr. Enrique Vendrell, General Director of Religious Affairs of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Mr. Antoni Comas, President of the Federació de Cristians de Catalunya and the Management of the Grup Avant de Terrassa of the Federació de Cristians de Catalunya, who organized the contest for the 10 dioceses with headquarters in Catalonia.
63.456 children, from many different schools and parishes, participated in the different modalities (writing, drawing and computer based) of this year’s contest. The motto for this year’s edition was “And you. Who do you say I am?” making reference to the question Jesus asked his disciples, as it is written in the Gospel. Monsignor Sainz reflected on this year’s motto, and invited the audience to go in depth in the meaning of Jesus being the centre of Christian life.
