Sport is an essential part of our school. It keeps our students in excellent shape; it educates them in values, and promotes teamwork and self-improvement. We want body and soul to be in perfect harmony. Our main goal is to showcase school sports outside our borders. An international sports project that begins in ESO 3 and which a lot of students take part in throughout their time in our school.

We are members of the ISSA (International Schools Sports Association), an organization which allows us to achieve three main goals: to teach our students educational values through sport competitions, to promote cultural exchanges and to encourage school families to participate in the project by hosting international students taking part in these activities, the result being a unique and enriching experience for everyone.

World class sports facilities

Sports hall, swimming pool, football field and fitness centre are the perfect setting to ensure a comprehensive physical education: football, handball, basketball, tennis, badminton, five-a-side football, volleyball, swimming, synchronized swimming.

Pre-sports

The Sports School is the first contact for infant students into the world of sports. In the last year, P5, we introduce students to sports, which allows us to detect which students may be more talented or may have more interest in one sport or another (tennis, basketball, hockey and football).

Swimming

At European International School of Barcelona, swimming is an essential part of the sports curriculum of our students. Swimming is part of P.E. for our students from 2 to 14 years of age.

High quality facilities and an experienced team of coaches are the key elements behind our competitive and synchronized swimming teams.

Europa sports centre

Our dedication to sports, and the important role they play in the education of our children, has allowed us to develop the Europa Sports Centre, a proper Sports Club in charge of all the affiliated competitions that take place in our country, and all the different after-school sporting activities. The club is also open to school families and external members.

Kaptiva Sports Academy

European International School of Barcelona has a collaboration agreement with Kaptiva Sports Academy, an elite soccer academy. The Academy’s main goal is to offer the best annual soccer program to young talented soccer players from all over the world, helping them reach their full potential through a fully integrated soccer program.
